Todd, Jacob, John and Richard Burnett came out with Dan Dragues and Matt Murphy for a pheasant and chukar hunt. Jeff Powell brought out his dogs to find the birds spread around the Clubhouse and Pasture Fields. Lots of birds and lots of shooting, they did it right, fun day in the field.
Jim and Adam Ziegler came out with their buddy, CJ Goldstein to hunt some pheasant and chukar. Colton Wilkins brought out his setter, Bama and shorthair, Preacher, to find the birds in the milo and prairie at the south end of the Tinkerfarm Field. The birds were no match for the pair of dogs or trio of shooters.
Joe and Tim Lawson came out to hunt some pheasant and quail. Travis Devall along with Zip, Patches and Sadie did the guiding for the birds spread around the Clubhouse Field. It was a beautiful, warm, spring morning, not exactly perfect for upland bird hunting, but the birds mostly cooperated and the spent a nice morning in the field.
Bo Baer picked a nice, spring day to bring out his buddies, Gary Dodillet and Mark Mitchell for a pheasant and chukar hunt. Jeff Powell brought out a setter, brittany and a cocker to find, point and flush the birds from the Clubhouse Field. The dogs found them all and the hunters only let a few fly away.
Larry Kleiner set up a hunt for a bunch of friends, Jeff and Whitney Gray, Dave Schumacher, Bob Dasenbrach and Doug Hayes. They brought along brittany, german shorthair and two setters to the quail coveys I stashed in the Cabin Field. Bob caught the hunt on film and came back with nice footage and a bunch of quail.
Jim and Michael Geiger came out to hunt some quail and chukar. Travis Devall brought out his three dogs to find the birds in the Clubhouse Field. The dogs and the shooters were on the ball and cleared out the field in record time.
Karolyn Eilers and Jim Jacobs came out for a chukar hunt. Before we started hunting chukar, I set out a couple quail singles for Karolyn’s new springer pup, Chipper, to find and chase. Chipper found the birds and really liked chasing them around Karolyn’s feet. Then Curly and Mac got to go find the chukar I placed around the Clubhouse Field. Jim and Karolyn did a good job knocking down the birds they found.
Bob and Nathan Touchette came out to hunt some pheasants. I set out some birds in the Clubhouse Field and got Sol and Mac out to start the hunt. It was a warm day and the birds were on the move early, so after getting chances at most I traded out dogs and we went back out to clean up the runners. They almost got them all, just leaving one hen for seed.
Brian Cox came out with his friends, J.D. Gelsinger and Clayton Aderman for a pheasant and chukar hunt. I set out the birds in the South Tinkerfarm Field and brought out Ava and Sol to find them. The dogs found all the birds and the hunters knocked them all down, so we went on find some quail. There were some little coveys and singles in the timber around the old pond and with a lot of woods shooting they were able to harvest some.
Randy Schmitt invited out ten friends to come out and hunt some quail. They split up into four different fields, and they got out their shorthairs and one lone setter to hunt up the quail coveys, doubles and singles I set out in the prairie and milo. I got out to get a little video from the hunt in the Clubhouse Field. The dogs did a good job finding the birds that were flying like little rockets on a nice spring morning.
