The East Bottom Field has been partially farmed until this season. It has a new look, with the three prairie strips and prairie edge in the south portion now filled in by newly planted prairie. North of the ditch, there is an acre plus of tree plantings and additional new prairie.
Twenty plus acres of new cover that is going to allow this field to hunt much bigger and hold more leftover birds. I have encountered a couple of wild quail coveys already this fall.
The cover is going to be a little heavy until the first good freeze, but then this field will be a fun, challenging spot to hunt.
