John and Burl Quail Hunt

John Cavaletto got his English Pointer, Burl out to do some warm up on some quail.  .  I stocked some quail mini-coveys in the Clubhouse Field and the east bottom for Burl to find.  Burl found them all and they had a great time hunting them around the bottom field foxtail.

Kevin, Bill, Ina and Penny Quail Hunt

Kevin Diekroeger brought out Ina and Penny for a quail hunt.   I set some quail coveys around the south end of the Tinkerfarm and then came along to help with the harvest.  Penny and Ina did a nice job finding and pointing the coveys  and then the singles that got spread throughout the timber around the old pond.  Fun hunt and I even hit a few.

Phil, Alex, Sam and Ross Pheasant and Chukar Hunt

Phil Stock set up a family pheasant and chukar hunt for his three sons, Alex, Sam and Ross.  I filled the Tinkerfarm Field foodplots with birds and Sol got to find and point them.  They picked a warm, sunny afternoon to hunt, but the birds did well in the food plots, all getting up in range after the first rooster.  They got them all plus a quail, except for that first wily pheasant.

Jason, Jesse, Sam and Adam Pheasant and Quail Hunt

Jason and Adam Overby along with Jesse and Sam Stokes got together for a pheasant and quail hunt.  This was Adam’s and Sam’s first upland bird hunt.  We did a little clay pigeon practice and then I set out some birds in the milo strips at the Tinkerfarm.  Sol got first dibs to hunt up the birds and both Sam and Adam knocked down their first pheasants.  Then Curly and Mac came out to help clean up the remaining quail and few pheasants.  We came back with all the pheasants and almost all the quail on a beautiful morning.

Emily and Cletus, Pheasant Hunt

Emily and Cletus Geurts came out for a pheasant hunt.  I stocked the Clubhouse Field with some pheasants and got Curly and Mac to hunt them up.  It was a beautiful day, a little too nice, for a bird hunt, but the pheasants behaved and the dogs were able to find and point them.  Emily and Cletus did their part and returned with all their birds.

Bill, Logan and Whip Pheasant Hunt

Bill Warix came out with grandson, Logan and German Shorthair, Whip for a pheasant hunt.  I set out some pheasant in the north end of the Tinkerfarm Field in the milo and millet food plots.  Whip found all the birds and Bill was able to harvest a couple.  They did a walk around the Clubhouse Field and came up with another pheasant.  Great job by Logan keeping up with Bill and Whip and helping flush the birds.warix 11 6 15 1

Scott and Lonnie, Upland Bird Hunt

Dr. Scott Joyner came out with his friend Lonnie Melvin for an upland bird hunt.  I stocked the Clubhouse Field and the east bottom ground with pheasant, quail and chukar.  Curly and Mac had their work cut out for them finding and pointing the birds on a sunny, warm afternoon.  Scott and Lonnie added to the fun bringing out their .410 over and unders to do the harvesting.   After a nice afternoon in the field and tiring out four dogs, we came back with a pile of birds for the table.
