Farley Family, Quail and Chukar Hunt

Chad, Cole, Luke, Tim and Ross Farley came out to hunt some quail and chukar. They headed out to the Cabin Field with Jeff Powell to find some quail coveys and chukar doubles. The chukar were no match for the hunters, but quail are tough for a big group and they scattered the coveys to the surrounding timber and fencerows.

David, Ryan, Nick and Anthony, Upland Bird Hunts

David Knaus set up some hunts for his buddies, Ryan Redmann, Nick Klitzing and Anthony Sarros Jr. They picked a snowy afternoon to start their first hunt with Steve Sanders in the Cabin Field going after primarily pheasant and chukar with one quail covey. Snow kept the birds holding tight, making for some nice shooting. Good dinner and evening in the clubhouse before starting the morning with eggs and bacon before heading over to the North Tinkerfarm Field. Colton Wilkins brought out his shorthair Preacher to find the birds tucked in the snow, with a few more quail coveys for this hunt. Lots of shooting and a pile of birds to clean from both the hunts.

Keller Upland Bird Hunt

Brad Bickhaus set up an upland bird hunt for his co-workers and friends. They picked an excellent morning, around 30 with a light breeze. Jeff Powell guided half of the group over at the North Tinkerfarm Field while Colton Wilkins guided the rest with his dog, Preacher in the Clubhouse Field. Both groups came back with the same nice harvest.

Last Continental Pheasant Shoot Coming Up February 24th.

On January 27th, 22 shooters and several dog handlers braved the cold to shoot down 200 pheasants in the Clubhouse Field.

That was probably the best Continental Pheasant Shoot we have held at Sandy Run, but I would like to top it on February 24th. On that Sunday, we will hold the last shoot of this season. Call, text or email me to get your stand reserved.

Jenkins Family Pheasant Hunt

Jim, Tom, Ben, Tom, Matt and Michael Jenkins joined JB and Jeff Biermann came out to hunt some pheasant. The picked a cloudy, warm, wet morning so the pheasant held tight in the December cover. Travis Devall guided half of the group over at the Cabin Field and Colton Devall got the other half in the Clubhouse Field. With a bunch of pheasant out there, I brought out Ava to help clean up in the Clubhouse Field.

Last Chance for a Hildy Puppy . . . Lazzi

Little Lazzi is the last puppy from Hildy’s litter for sale. She has a ton of desire to retrieve, point the wing and chase pigeons. She is getting close to being house broken and is going to have beautiful fuzzy face. She is all Wirehair, getting into trouble constantly but able to settle down on the couch for a nap. Lazzi is a little over 9 weeks and ready for her new home. Still $800, but will be more when she is housebroken and better mannered is a couple of weeks.
