Zach and Jeff Rawlings came out for a pheasant hunt on wet, warm, windy day at the beginning of December. The pheasant were up and running around the Clubhouse Field when Jeff Powell got his dogs out to do the guiding. Despite the conditions, they still had opportunities at the birds and came back with most.

Rich and Richard Berry came out for a pheasant and chukar hunt during their Thanksgiving holiday. Colton Wilkins guided the hunt in the East Bottom and Clubhouse Field along with his shorthair, Preacher. They did a nice job on the birds, with the pheasant going down, but some of the quail flying off into the timber.

Thacker Cripe came out with his Grandpa and uncle, Brian and Tyler Westendorf for an upland bird hunt. Travis Devall did the guiding in the Cabin Field, with his threesome of pointing dogs. Nice hunt, they cleaned up the field, only leaving a couple of pheasant, but coming back with all their quail and an extra chukar.

Matt, Brad and Jon Dietz came out to walk off some Thanksgiving dinner chasing some pheasant and chukar around the Clubhouse Field. Travis Devall did the guiding with his, setter, pointer and brittany combo. Nice hunt for the windy warm condtions, getting all their chukar, most of the pheasant and picking up a couple bonus quail.

Amos Boggs, Kenny Kaufman and Darrin Mars came out for an upland bird hunt and brought their own guide along, Jeff Powell to help find and knock down the birds. They spread out around the North Tinkerfarm prairie and milo strips with Meg and the rest of Jeff’s dogs finding and pointing the birds. Lots of action and lots of birds harvested, only a few pheasant escaping to the thick fencerows.

Chuck Gurkin and Gene Hodge came out to hunt some pheasant and chukar. Gene missed all last season, but he and his shorthair Addie along with the some help of Chuck, cleared the field of all the birds I set out. Welcome back Gene and Addie.

Merrell and Zac Collins brought out his new Weimaraner, Lulu out for some more quail work. I set out some singles in the Clubhouse Field milo for Lulu to find and point. She did a great job for starting to hunt at two years old just a couple weeks before. She found all the birds, Zac knocked them down and she even had a couple retrieves.

Tyler and Kyle Eaton came out with their shorthair, Ace and friends, Nate Smithe and Bentley Beaver to hunt some pheasant. Ace got the duty of finding the pheasants in the Clubhouse Field. He must have done a good job for a warm breezy day, the hunters came back with 10 out of 12.

Joe Lawson set up a hunt for his sons, Tim and Josh and son-in-law Doug Forbes just after Thanksgiving. Colton Wilkins and his shorthair guided them after pheasant, chukar and quail in the East and West Bottom Fields. They did great on all the big birds, with only a couple of quail escaping across Sandy Run in the big timber.

Terry Knebel and Roger Well brought out their dogs, Sadie and Timber to hunt some quail. I set out some mini-coveys in the prairie around the timber edges trying to escape some breezy conditions. The pups did a great job, they got almost all the quail and a bonus pheasant.
