Chuck Gurkin started out the new year right with a pheasant and chukar hunt. His hunting buddy, Gene Hodge, is on the injured reserve so I took him out in the Clubhouse Field with Hildy and Ava. The birds were holding tight in the frigid temps and Chuck came back with all his birds. Nice start to the New Year.

Chuck Johnson brought out his shorthair, Shed to find the pheasant and chukar I set out in the Clubhouse Field on New Year’s Eve. Kyle, Jason, Jackson and Lane Arnold and Caleb Jourdan joined him. After Shed wore out I brought out Ava and Sol to finish the hunt and got a bit of video.

Phil Stock set up a hunt for his sons, Sam, Alex and Ross. Travis Devall brought out Sadie, Zip and Patches to point the pheasant and chukar I set out in the Cabin Field. The cold, snowy weather held the birds tight in the cover, so the experienced crew had a lot of good shooting. Pretty sure Sam may be deaf after some of Ross’ shots.

Brian, Chris and Mike Davis came out for a pheasant and quail hunt. Jeff Powell got out his cocker, brittany, pointer and setter to find the birds in the Cabin Field. They did well on the pheasants but the quail were a little tougher, but still a nice hunt.

Dwayne Ritchey set up an upland bird hunt for his buds, Justin and John Arndt and Chris Keiser. Colton Wilkins did the guiding for the pheasant, chukar and quail spread around the prairie and milo strips in the Cabin Field. They pretty much cleaned up the pheasant and chukar but let a few quail get away.

Tony Koberlein and his friend John Adams came out for an upland bird hunt. Travis Devall got to guide his friend down in the East Bottom Field, going after some pheasant, chukar and quail. Some real nice rises in this video and just a fun hunt to watch.

Keith Becker set up a hunt for his out of town friends, Alex Carrick and Stuart Eastwood. Jeff Powell guided them as they hunted pheasant, quail and chukar in the Cabin Field. Some nice rooster flushes and covey rises in this video of a fun hunt.

Jeff and Evan Waymoth joined Troy and Preston Latch to hunt some pheasants. Colton Wilkins brought out his dogs to find the birds in the Clubhouse Field. The young hunters had a nice hunt knocking down and coming back with most of their birds.

Brian Horath set up a hunt for his two friends, Derek Iffert and Rodney Stanfield. I set out a bunch of chukar doubles and some quail coveys in the Clubhouse Field for Travis Devall and his trio of dogs to find. Really nice covey rise about 10 seconds in. They came back with most of their birds, but sounded like they a had a bunch of fun in the field.

Dave and David Proud came out from Maryland on a trip and stopped in to hunt some pheasant and quail. They did a right, putting out a pile of birds in the Cabin Field for Colton Wilkins and his pair of dogs to find. They did well, lots of action, don’t think I saw a single miss in the editing.
