Bickhaus Hunt, Introducing Paisley

Brad Bickhaus set up an upland hunt for his sons and friends.  Jeff Powell guided a group after the pheasant, chukar and quail I set out in the Cabin Field, while Steve Sanders took his pointers to the Tinkerfarm Field to get their birds.  Brad and Trevor took Paisley, Trevor’s new springer out for a quail introduction.  She did a great job finding the birds in light cover and Brad shot the last couple over her and we got to see her retrieve a few.

Connor and David, Pheasant and Chukar Hunt

David Diecker started off the New Year hunting with his grandson, Connor.  I set some pheasant and chukar in the Clubhouse Field and Jeff Powell brought out his Brittanys, Setter, German shorthair and maybe even a  cocker in there to find, point and flush the birds.  David and Connor made easy work of the birds getting up in shotgun range.

Chelsi, Dean and Travis, Upland Bird Hunt

Dean, Travis and Chelsi Devall came out to run their herd of dogs on some birds I set out in the Cabin Field.  Dean brought along his lab, Peaches and new pointer Cy, while Travis brought out his two setters, Zip and Patches, and his new pointer Sadie.  Needless to say the birds didn’t have much a chance. (this video has been mostly edited for content, although some fowl language may still be present).

Nathan, Mitchell, Tony and Randy, Quail Hunt

Nathan, Mitchell, Tony and Randy Jenkins came for a quail hunt and picked a gusty day.  I stashed quail coveys behind windbreaks as much as possible at the Tinkerfarm Field.  Travis Devall, brought out his setter pair, Patches and Zip to help him with the guiding.  The windy weather got most of the coveys up and heading to the timber, but they had a few nice rises and lots of singles action.

John, Chris and John, w/ Bing Upland Bird Hunt

John McIntosh came down with two friends, Chris Cougill and John Williamson.  They started out hunting some pheasant and chukar with Williamson’s Drahthaar, Bing.  Then we put out some quail coveys and got out a few setters, Doo and Ava to help Bing with the bird finding.  After a nice hunt, John McIntosh got his young setter, Binks, out of the truck to find some quail.
