David Schumacher and Larry Kleiner came out for a quail hunt on the Clubhouse field.  Larry brought out his two German Shorthairs, Trigger and Holly, and David came with his Brittany Spaniel, Dan.  The field was stocked with quail doubles and the dogs did some nice work finding all the birds in the big prairie field.  Larry, David and their dogs covered the field and found all the birds and even found a few extras.

Terry Knebel put together a quail hunt with his buddies Dan Corbett, David Schumacher, and Marvin Peterson.  Terry’s German Shorthair, Sadie is on the DL after some foot surgery, so David brought out his Brittany, Dan and Marvin his Small Munsterlander, Boots.  We stocked the Clubhouse Field with mini-coveys, the dogs found the birds which flew well with some nice covey rises.  Temperature was perfect hovering around 30 with just a slight breeze to help the dogs, great hunt.

The Quillman’s, Dennis, Jennifer and Denny along with Dennis Eggemeyer.  came out for a quail, pheasant and chukar hunt.  They chose the Clubhouse field and Dennis’s English Pointer, Fred and English Setter, Ladybug got the job of finding all those birds in a 33+ acre field.  Great weather for the hunt  and birds held, giving lots of shooting opportunities.  Jennifer hadn’t been since she was a child, but got back in the groove knocking down some birds.

Ted McGee brought out his Pastor Myles Holmes, friends John and Dusty Harvey for an upland bird hunt.  Pheasant, quail and chukar were ready in the Cabin Field and Ted’s English Setter, Jenny and English Pointe, Ace did the job finding the birds.  First upland bird hunt for a couple of the hunters and they all had a blast moving birds from fields to woods to fields.  Just as last time, Ted’s party came back with extra pheasants.

Jake Welch and his friend Marc Robinson came down for a two-day pheasant and chukar hunt.  The first afternoon Curly, Mac, Sol and Doo tracked down the birds on the Clubhouse field and Marc and Jake were able to get opportunities at all the birds.  After a steak dinner and omelet breakfast, they were out to the Cabin field for more pheasants and chukar.  Steve Sanders brought out his two English Pointers, Rose and Sue, to do the guiding.  Good dog work and some good shooting led to another successful hunt.

Chris Lewis set up a quail hunt for his friends Tim Cincotta and Maurine Free, but mostly for his Brittany, Bo and German Short Hair, Nitro.   This was Maurine’s first hunt and she knocked down several birds with Tim backing her up.   They had fun chasing around three mini-coveys placed out in the Clubhouse Field on the first day in the 50’s this year.

Greg Ireland set up a hunt with his brother, Anthony, dad, Gene and cousin Troy Pattillo.  Daisy, the amazing pound puppy did an awesome job finding the mini-coveys of quail in the Clubhouse Field.  Some nice rises and good shooting for this group, topped off by a triple on a rise by Gene.  Check it out.

Michael and Jim Geiger brought out their English Setter Susie for a mixed hunt of pheasant, quail and chukar.  The Clubhouse Field was filled with birds and Susie did a good job finding them.  Michael and Jim cleaned up and even came back with an extra pheasant.

Kevin Diekroeger came out with Karen Quinlan for a quail hunt on the Clubhouse Field.  Penny the English Setter and Ina the German Wire Hair Pup showed them where the coveys were.  Kevin had two nice rises but only knocked a few down.  The quail headed to the pasture timber and Kevin had fun cleaning up the singles in the woods.  Kevin even shoots one through the old stable as it takes off from hiding underneath.

Josh Siterlet set up a pheasant and chukar hunt for some family, Jacob Mumbower and Dr. Jim Davis, and his friend David Wells.   Steve Sanders brought out his two English Pointers, Rose and Sue to do the guiding.  They put out a bunch of pheasant and chukar  in the Clubhouse Field and had a great hunt as the temperature went from too cold to about perfect for bird hunting toward the middle of the hunt.
