Joe Mitterer brought his buddy, John Golden and young shorthair, Grace to do some chukar and quail hunting.  I set some chukar and quail doubles around the prairie and milo strips in the Cabin Field for the trio to hunt.  Grace is coming along well, getting a bunch of bird work in her first season and did a great job for the hunters.

Dan Crunk and Butch Spelbring brought out their field trial dogs to do some work on quail around the the Sandy Run Bottom fields.  The dogs got to work on their steadiness and backing in particular.  Although no quail were injured in this practice there were several blank gun malfunctions.

Alan Feezel came out with his shorthair Harley to hunt some pheasant.  I set some birds down in the East Bottom.   Harley was on his game and found all the birds and they came back with nearly all of their pheasant.

Tim McClain came out with his young shorthair, Lucy, to hunt some pheasant and chukar.  He picked a sunny, breezy day, so we headed down to the East Bottom to get out of the wind.  The pheasants were on the run, but the chukar stayed home and Lucy was able to find nearly all of them.  

Larry Holman and Brad Hecht came out to work their pointers over  some quail.  Brad brought his dog, Ruby to find the quail in the Clubhouse Field.  Ruby did a good job finding the birds and got steadier at each point.  Larry brought out his trial dog, Bo, to do some running and finding down in the Sandy Run bottom fields. 

Kevin Wade brought down Kristin and JJ Davis to help him out on a pheasant and chukar hunt.  We started out into the light snow with Sol leading us to the birds in the Clubhouse Field.  Kristin was new to upland bird hunting, but soon got the hang of the game and starting knocking down the big birds.  Doo and Ava came out to find the birds that got spread around the field .

Troy and Alayna Williams brought out their young, brittany puppy, Josie to introduce her to some quail.  Josie found the quail I stashed in the milo strips, did a little pointing and then chased the running a flying birds.  Great new experience for the family and puppy.

Tom and Kevin Diekroeger did some quail hunting in the Pasture Field, but left a few in the timber and thickets, so Tommy and I went back out with his brittany, Abby to do some clean up.  We both shot a lot, trying to hit the birds darting through the timber, finally on my seventh shot of the outing, I got an open shot and knocked down a quail.

Todd, Jacob, John and Richard Burnett  came out with Dan Dragues and Matt Murphy for a pheasant and chukar hunt.  Jeff Powell brought out his dogs to find the birds spread around the Clubhouse and Pasture Fields.  Lots of birds and lots of shooting, they did it right, fun day in the field.

Jim and Adam Ziegler came out with their buddy, CJ Goldstein to hunt some pheasant and chukar.  Colton Wilkins brought out his setter, Bama and shorthair, Preacher, to find the birds in the milo and prairie at the south end of the Tinkerfarm Field.  The birds were no match for the pair of dogs or trio of shooters.
