Chuck, Griffin, Nick, Kyle, and Jacob w/ Shed Upland Bird Hunt

Chuck Johnson brought out his English Pointer, Shed and a pile of kids, Griffin and Nick Lindsey, Jacob Squib, and Kyle Arnold for an upland bird hunt.  I packed the Clubhouse Field full of pheasants, quail and chukar and Shed found them all.  The afternoon got warm and the shooting was good.  The boys made short work of the birds and got all but a lone quail left for the next group.

Pat, Rascal and Gage Quail Hunt

Pat Johnston brought out his two English Pointers, Rascal and Gage for a quail hunt over in the Cabin Field.   Rascal got his chance at a mini-covey and then the pup Gage on his own covey.  Then both together for a couple more coveys.  The hunt for singles produced a bonus rooster pheasant.

John, Joel and Eric w/ Mickey and Mo Upland Bird Hunt

John McIntosh brought out Joel Jessup and Eric Bonham for an upland bird hunt.  John came with two English Setters, Mickey and Mo.  The hunt started with pheasant and chukar on the Clubhouse Field, the dogs did their job and found the birds.  After a little snack, back to the Clubhouse Field for a couple of big quail coveys.   Mickey and Mo found the coveys and Mac helped clean up some singles.  First upland hunt for Eric and some nice video proof of some nice shots.

Wayne and Louis Pheasant and Chukar Hunt in the Sleet

Wayne Ingram and Louis Carter came out for a pheasant and chukar hunt on a March day full of sleet, wind, cold and birds.  Curly got to start the hunt on the Clubhouse Field, finding most of the pheasant and chukar.  The wind had the pheasants up and running around and the chukars flying erratically, so Mac and Sol got to help with some clean up and Wanye and Louis ended up with most of their birds.

Kevin and Karen Quail Hunt w/ Ina and Penny

Kevin Diekroeger and Karen Quinlan brought out their English Setter, Penny and German Wirehair Pointer, Ina for a quail hunt in the Clubhouse Field.   I put out three mini-coveys of quail and the pups found them.  Kevin knocked a few down on the rise and then into the woods and fencerows to pick up the singles.  Birds were flying hard and the trees made for some interesting shooting.

Larry, Nathan, and Brian Quail Hunt w/ Bill and Julie

Larry Jones came out with his son, Nathan and son-in-law Brian Lewis for a quail hunt.  Larry brought his two English Pointers, Bill and Julie.  They picked the Clubhouse Field and we placed three nice sized mini-coveys for them to hunt.  The dogs found the coveys and the birds cooperated with some nice rises.   Lots of singles to hunt and the dogs found almost all of them plus a few extras in the brush.

David and Larry Quail Hunt w/Trigger, Dan and Holly

David Schumacher and Larry Kleiner came out for a quail hunt on the Clubhouse field.  Larry brought out his two German Shorthairs, Trigger and Holly, and David came with his Brittany Spaniel, Dan.  The field was stocked with quail doubles and the dogs did some nice work finding all the birds in the big prairie field.  Larry, David and their dogs covered the field and found all the birds and even found a few extras.

Terry, Dan, Marvin and David Quail Hunt w/ Dan and Boots

Terry Knebel put together a quail hunt with his buddies Dan Corbett, David Schumacher, and Marvin Peterson.  Terry’s German Shorthair, Sadie is on the DL after some foot surgery, so David brought out his Brittany, Dan and Marvin his Small Munsterlander, Boots.  We stocked the Clubhouse Field with mini-coveys, the dogs found the birds which flew well with some nice covey rises.  Temperature was perfect hovering around 30 with just a slight breeze to help the dogs, great hunt.

Dennis, Jennifer, Dennis and Denny Upland Bird Hunt

The Quillman’s, Dennis, Jennifer and Denny along with Dennis Eggemeyer.  came out for a quail, pheasant and chukar hunt.  They chose the Clubhouse field and Dennis’s English Pointer, Fred and English Setter, Ladybug got the job of finding all those birds in a 33+ acre field.  Great weather for the hunt  and birds held, giving lots of shooting opportunities.  Jennifer hadn’t been since she was a child, but got back in the groove knocking down some birds.
