Bill and Tony Warix brought out their two German Shorthaired Pointers, Whip and Lady for a pheasant hunt. The dogs got to hunt some birds I stocked in the north end of the Tinkerfarm. Whip found all the birds and they came back with most even picking up an extra quail.
Brad, Brad, Cooper and Copper, Pheasant and Chukar Hunt
Brad Wood came out with his Wirehair, Cooper, while his friend Brad Rodseth brought along his chocolate, pointing lab, Copper for a pheasant and chukar hunt. I stocked the food plots at the north end of the Tinkerfarm with birds and the dogs did a nice job together tracking down and pointing them. The day was a little too nice, getting the pheasant up and moving, but they still found and harvested most of their quarry.
Jay, Jordan, Paul and Jimmy, Pheasant and Quail Hunt
Jay and Jordan Leskera along with Paul Scherer and Jim Schwartz, got in a warm-up pheasant and quail hunt before the opening of waterfowl season Saturday. I filled the Clubhouse Field with birds and Mac and Sol got the first crack at finding them. The guys cleaned up nearly all the pheasants on the first trip, then Doo and Curly helped them hunt done the remaining quail.
Eric, Jason, Gary and Mick w/Brody and Quentin Pheasant and Quail Hunt
Eric Bratzler set up a pheasant and quail hunt with his buddies, Mick and Gary Gebhart and Jason Overby. Eric brought along Quentin and Mick, Brody, both Brittany Spaniels, to find the birds. I set the pheasants and quail coveys around the Tinkerfarm Field and the group had their work cut out for them on a sunny, hot afternoon. The pheasants wanted to run but the quail stayed coveyed up and they had a fun hunt chasing the birds around the old Tinkerfarm pond.
John and Burl Quail Hunt
John Cavaletto got his English Pointer, Burl out to do some warm up on some quail. . I stocked some quail mini-coveys in the Clubhouse Field and the east bottom for Burl to find. Burl found them all and they had a great time hunting them around the bottom field foxtail.
Kevin, Bill, Ina and Penny Quail Hunt
Kevin Diekroeger brought out Ina and Penny for a quail hunt. I set some quail coveys around the south end of the Tinkerfarm and then came along to help with the harvest. Penny and Ina did a nice job finding and pointing the coveys and then the singles that got spread throughout the timber around the old pond. Fun hunt and I even hit a few.
Bob, Jason and Libby Quail and Chukar Hunt
Bob and Jason Dasenbrock came out for a quail and chukar hunt with his English Setter pup, Libby. I set out some birds around the food plots in the cabin field and Libby did a great job, finding and pointing the birds.
Phil, Alex, Sam and Ross Pheasant and Chukar Hunt
Phil Stock set up a family pheasant and chukar hunt for his three sons, Alex, Sam and Ross. I filled the Tinkerfarm Field foodplots with birds and Sol got to find and point them. They picked a warm, sunny afternoon to hunt, but the birds did well in the food plots, all getting up in range after the first rooster. They got them all plus a quail, except for that first wily pheasant.
Jason, Jesse, Sam and Adam Pheasant and Quail Hunt
Jason and Adam Overby along with Jesse and Sam Stokes got together for a pheasant and quail hunt. This was Adam’s and Sam’s first upland bird hunt. We did a little clay pigeon practice and then I set out some birds in the milo strips at the Tinkerfarm. Sol got first dibs to hunt up the birds and both Sam and Adam knocked down their first pheasants. Then Curly and Mac came out to help clean up the remaining quail and few pheasants. We came back with all the pheasants and almost all the quail on a beautiful morning.
Emily and Cletus, Pheasant Hunt
Emily and Cletus Geurts came out for a pheasant hunt. I stocked the Clubhouse Field with some pheasants and got Curly and Mac to hunt them up. It was a beautiful day, a little too nice, for a bird hunt, but the pheasants behaved and the dogs were able to find and point them. Emily and Cletus did their part and returned with all their birds.
