Compilation of some of the worst, bird-destroying shots that I caught on camera last season. Some are just too close, doubled up on, tripled, just blown-up. I do not condone these actions, game birds are too fine a delicacy to waste. But, they are fun to watch.

Hunting Land for Sale
My family has 40 acres for sale in Fayette County, IL. The ground is located about 2 miles west of Hagarstown off Highway 140. The legal description would be the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of section 33 Bear Grove Township.
There are 32 tillable acres, 8 of these acres are currently farmed. The remaining 24 tillable acres have been in the CRP tree program for 29 years. The current contract is valid until 2020 and pays around $1,900 annually. The 8 acres of tillable ground could be cash rented for $160/acre.
The remaining 8 acres is in timber mixed among fencerows and the hillside on the south end of the property.
This is a great piece of property for someone looking for some ground and who also likes to deer hunt. Lots of deer on this property, the thick growth from the tree program and timber edges has made this a nice sanctuary. We have taken some nice deer off this property and some incredible sheds. Check out the pics below.
Incredible investment at $3,500/acre. Call me with any questions 618 292 8680

Joe and Bill Quail Hunt #2 Last of the Season
My cousin Joe finished off the season right with two on the last two days. I wanted to get all the dogs in on the hunt, so I set a mini-covey out for my lab Ty. He had a great time and found, flushed and retrieved all his birds. Then Sol and Yadi got to find a big covey, Joe and I knocked some down on the rise and picked up a few singles in the fencerow. Lastly, Curly, Doo and Mac got the last covey to hunt, those got scattered along the hill on the Clubhouse Field. The dogs had a great time finding and pointing the singles, great end to an awesome hunting season.
Brad and Alex Quail Hunt
Brad Wood and Alex Hesser came out for a last day quail hunt. Brad couldn’t get his usual guide, John McIntosh to bring out his setters, so Steve Sanders brought his two pointers, Rose and Sue. I stashed some nice-sized quail coveys around the Tinkerfarm and they set off to find them. Brad’s wirehaired pointer pup, Cooper got a chance to play with some of their harvest after the hunt, getting ready for his first hunts next season.
Dan, Millie and Flirt Quail Hunt
Dan Crunk came out with two of his pointers, Millie and Flirt for one last quail hunt of the season in the Clubhouse Field. I set some quail and Millie and Flirt hunted for them in the mid-day heat. The dogs also found a few leftover pheasant roosters to add a little variety to their day in the field.
Bill, Alan, Randy and Dennis w/ Whip and Harley Pheasant Hunt
Alan Feezel set up one last pheasant hunt for the year with his buddies, Bill Warix, Randy Gray and Dennis Wallace. Bill and Alan brought their German Shorthaired Pointers, Whip and Harley to do the hunting. Warm and sunny and in the middle of spring meant the pheasant were up and moving around. The dogs worked well and they found almost all the pheasants and had a nice last hunt for the season.
Joe and Bill Quail Hunt # 1
I finally got my cousin, Joe Blythe out for a quail hunt this season. Second to the last day of the season, he was cutting it close. I set out three large coveys of quail, the first in the hidden field south of the cabin road then one over at the prairie field at the Tinkerfarm. Curly and Mac got to come and hunt these two coveys, some nice dog work and an incredible covey rise at the first field. Next we headed back to the Clubhouse Field and a couple fresh Setters, Doo and Yadi and an other large quail covey. We had a lot of fun with the dogs and trying to knock down a few quail.
Merrell and Misty Pheasant Hunt
Merrell Collins brought out his Weimaraner pup, Misty, for her first pheasant experience. Merrell did the dog handling, Joe Blythe did the shooting and Misty found and pointed the birds. Everyone did their job, with Misty doing some pointing and even some retrieving.
Chelsi, Dean and Travis Pheasant and Quail Hunt
Chelsi Devall made it out for her first hunt of the season and brought her granddad, Dean and father, Travis for a pheasant and quail hunt. They brought an entire pack of dogs to find the birds, Patches, Peaches, Gunner, Sally and pup, Zip. The pheasants were first and each gave the group good opportunities, with only one escaping for brief time before it’s demise. A couple of nice-sized quail coveys were next, giving some nice shots on the rise and chasing down the singles.
Brien, Hanley and Rex, Quail Hunt
Brien Guy came out with his pointer, Rex and his cousin, Hanley to get Rex on birds one more time. I set out some coveys in the Clubhouse Field and Rex set out to find them. The afternoon was warm, but the birds stayed in their coveys and Rex had some nice points on the coveys and singles.
